Advent Calendar Blog Hop

Welcome to our second of 2 Blog Hops happening this month. In this Hop you will find that each consultant has created a calendar, we've used different materials and created our own take on advent calendars!  Close To My Heart has an Advent Calendar WOTG kit that you can purchase from your local consultant, or you can purchase from from me here.

If you have just hopped onto my blog, you can start here as this is a circular hop, but if you want to follow us across Canada then please start at the beginning and join Darla in Nova Scotia at Caution: Crafting is Contagious If you came from Darla's blog then you are in the right place!

Please excuse the poor quality of my photo, my picture editor decided tonight would be a good night to crash.

I chose to use the display tray which can be found on page 129 of the current Idea Book for only $19.95 . Since the display tray only has 12 openings, I thought it was perfect for the 12 Days of Christmas. I used current paper, as well as some retired paper.....it was a bit of a challenge as I had to figure out how to make doors to open....as well as make it fun for the kids. I really like how it turned out, I hope you like it too. The cavities are big enough to place some chocolate Santa's.

Cross Canada Christmas Card Blog Hop - 11/5/12

Welcome to our first of 2 Blog Hops happening this month. In this Hop you will find that each consultant has created 3 Christmas Cards using non-Christmas paper! We were given the challenge to create these 3 cards using either cardstock or another paper packet of our choice.

If you have just hopped onto my blog, you can start here as this is a circular hop, but if you want to follow us across Canada then please start at the beginning and join Deanne in NewFoundland at Treasured Heart. If you came from Stephanie's Creations then you are in the right place!

For this first card I used the La Belle Vie Mauve Cardstock as my base. I ran it through my cuttlebug using the plaid folder from Winter Wonderland. Then placed a strip of Bamboo patterned paper ontop. I cut a mat out of the La Belle Vie Mauve, and layered a piece of White Daisy to stamp on. The sentiment came from the Christmas Love Stamp Set. The leaves and holly berries were cut from the Art Philosophy cartridge and using Olive and Holiday Red Inks stamped using the A Holiday stamp set.

This card uses the Striped Pattern paper as the base. Then I cut 2 mats, one in La Belle Vie Mauve and the second in La Belle Vie Pink. The sentiment comes from the Christmas Love stamp set and is stamped in Blush Ink. I cut multiple flowers from the Art Philosophy cartridge in 2 different sizes from the La Belle Vie Pink, then I inked all the flowers in the Blush ink. Using a Mini Antique Brad to fasten them together, I adhered it to the card with glue dots. The leaves are stamped in Olive ink, and also were cut from the Art Philosophy cartridge.
My last card in this series starts with the Pink Patterned Paper as the base. The ornaments are cut from the Bamboo patterned paper, and I used the Art Philosophy cartridge. They are adhered using 3D Foam Tape. The sentiment is from October's SOTM and is stamped in Black Ink. The ornament shapes are adorned with Pearl Opaques Adhesive Gems.

As promised.....

Well, I promised that I would put up photos of my younger 2 children dressed up for Halloween too.  So here they are.
This is my baby girl, Abbigail, she will be 22 months old tomorrow(Nov.3).  My mother in law made her Belle costume.  We tried hairclips, but she wasn't having none of that, and she was fast asleep at 7:30.  Poor thing, all the  excitement tuckered her out.

Here you will find Nicholaus, my superhero, Spiderman, he is 3 1/2 years old, and goes nonstop.  Daddy said that he was just running from house to house he was so excited.  Jaymee wanted her face painted just like Ghoulia Yelps, so I had to mix a grey face paint to get this look.  I don't follow Monster High, but, from the remarks from other kids, they knew exactly who she was.

Hope you all had a great Halloween!  Don't forget your poppies to support our Veterans!  Let us remember, November 11/12.
