Thanks a Bunch card Using Sketch #9

This week is super fun, and even though I won't be home for the last day of school, I made this card for my daughter to give to her teacher.  I used the current Sketch over at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

So, yes, I'm not home this week.  So where am I?  Darla, myself and fellow consultant Rosalynd Kelly flew down to Orlando.  We are attending our annual Close To My Heart convention at Walt Disney World.  Don't worry I will be posting photos from my trip when I return.  So without further ado, here is my card.

My card base is black, and I added a white mat on the inside for writing a message.  The front of the card is all scrap pieces of Cardstock.  I used Ruby, Cotton Candy, Hollyhock, Honey, Pear, Twilight, Outdoor Denim, Smokey Plum, Crystal Blue and Sunset.  The sentiment is from the Thank You stamp set, and is stamped on White Cardstock in Black Ink.  Hope you enjoyed this fun pieced together card.  I had fun making it.

Now head on over to Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge to see what our Design Team has created this week.

Thank You So Much Card for Sketch #8 AHSC

This week over at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge you will find this totally fun sketch.

I had alot of fun coloring this flower from June's SOTM.  Just remember when coloring with our Alcohol Markers, that it is best to use Archival Black Ink, StazOn Ink or our Black Pigment Ink, as the outline will not blurr.  Make sure it is completely dry before coloring.  This card features one of the cute flowers from this month's SOTM.

I used Cotton Candy Cardstock as my mat, and then I stamped an allover Chevron background in Cotton Candy Ink in second generation.  The stamp is from the In the Background Stamp Set.  Then using my Black pigment Ink, I stamped the sentiment from the Thank You Stamp Set.  I colored the flower using both Honey makers and both Smoothie markers.  Then I took a clear button and inked it in Honey Pigment Ink, and added some clear Embossing Powder and heat set it.

If you have just hopped onto my blog that is great, because I'm the first stop in this short blog hop. We normally have a larger hop, but we are all preparing to go to Orlando for our annual CTMH convention. No matter how small our hop is this month, I'm sure that you will get a lot of inspiration from our projects.

For my project I used the Mini Banner which is made of Chipboard, they measure 4x3 and I cut the layer out of Holiday Red Cardstock(retired) and adhered it to the chipboard. The exact shapes are found on the Art Philosophy Cartridge. Next I cut using my 2" scallop punch 9 scallop circles from White Daisy. Then on the cricut I cut 9 red circles at 1 1/2". I used the Token Alphabet to Stamp CANADA DAY in Holiday Red Ink(retired) on White Daisy Cardstock. You could substitute the Holiday Red for any Red that you have. The cupcake holders are from the Artiste Cartridge, and have the cute leaf design on it, I cut them at 2" and they fit perfect.

When you make qualifying purchase of $25, including a stamp set, you can receive this cute Mini Banner for free.
You can shop online here, or you can contact me and I will assit you in selecting the products that would suit your requirements.

Love U card for AHSC Sketch #7

Wow, you would think making cards from my own sketches would be easy.  Nope!  Not at all.  As I'm creating and reading my notes next to my sketches, I'm like what was I thinking, or maybe I didn't order in something I would need to use for that card. (I'm bad for that)

Anyway, this is the sketch for this week, #7.  Yep that is right we are on week #7 now.  It's been lots of fun, and I hope you have been enjoying my creations, but also the Design Teams creations, and the entrants.  They have been making our Top 3 voting very difficult.  Without further ado, here is the sketch and my card.

For this card I used, Ruby Cardstock, and the For Always paper.  I used the zipstrip to create the small banner and added some black bling I had in my stash.  The large banner is made from the Black Striped Grosgrain Ribbon.  The flower and leaves are from March's SOTM and the sentiment is from a stamp set that I can't seem to find now that is retired, Unity.
Reminder to enter my Blogversary Contest. Just a reminder that we have some great promotions running right now that you can take advantage of.

End of Year Teacher's Gift Bags

Another school Year is winding to it's end, with less than 15 days of school left.  If you remember my early post with Teacher/Volunteer Gifts, I was also asked to make some gift bags for the end of year.  The principal of the school had seen the gift bag on page 70 of our current Idea Book, and loved it.  She asked if I could make it exactly like in the book.  I told her I would try my hardest to do so.  Did I mention that she wanted 30 of them.

So away I went, planning the supplies I would need, and got the order sent off.  Here is a few photos of my journey in the creative process.

The first step once I had all my supplies was to grab my Artiste cartridge and select the gift bag, set it to cut at 5" and then cut 30 gift bags.

This is my stack of 30 gift bags.  I then scored all the fold lines.  What is great about the cricut is that it cuts perforated lines for scoring.

Next step was the stamping, inking, and coloring on the gift bag.  I used Crystal Blue Ink for the fold over top of the bag which represents the sky.  The stamp set used is Called Just Chillin'(C1495) and I stamped the sun in Honey Ink and colored the center with our Honey Alcohol Marker.  The Umbrella doubles as the water at the bottom of the gift bag, which I also stamped in Crystal Blue Ink.

The next set was to create the Umbrella's.  This required 5 colors, Cranberry, Sunset, Honey, Topiary, and Gypsy Ink.  I had to stamp 6 of each color and then cut the umbrella into pieces.  I  then inked all the edges with Black Ink.  Then using my Tombow I adhered each piece onto a white piece of cardstock cut in the shape of the umbrella.  (my fingers are still inked black from inking the edges)

Then I had to get all the banner pieces together, here you see all the pieces that get added to the gift bag.

This is what 30 gift bags look like.  It was alot of work, but I am really pleased with how well they turned out.
Thank you for reading my post to the end.  Incase I left out any supplies I used the full list is below. Also, if you haven't entered my contest yet, just click here.

Totally Awesome

I am just so thrilled with how well my new project with my bestie Darla has taken off.  Our Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge has crafters talking about our fun sketches.  It is just totally awesome.

So without further ado, here is this weeks sketch.

Did I mention that is this sketch #6?  Well it is, we are on our 6th week of our Sketch Challenge.  That also means that our Top 3 has been announced, it also means all the Design Teams creations are posted and can be found here.

So here is what I made using this week's sketch.

I started with a white cardbase, and my stamping is all on White Daisy cardstock.  I took 2 retired stamp sets, and took all these different shapes which consist of buttons and swirls and placed them at random.  I started with Honey Ink, then used Sunset, followed by Goldrush Ink. The pink is Hollyhock, and then I used Cranberry Ink at the bottom.  The Sparkles used are from the red/pink collection, and the sentiment comes from the stamp set from one of our constant campaigns.
