February SOTM Blog Hop - Wild About Love

Welcome to our Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!  We will be featuring February's SOTM, which is Wild About Love, a set of 9 stamps.  If you have come here from the fabulous creations of  Tamytha Jenkins's Blog, you are on the right path! The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way all around.  If you get lost along the way, you’ll find the complete list of participating consultants here.

This month we have 54 Close To My Heart Consultants sharing their creations using this month's SOTM and other great CTMH products on their blogs. This is simple to do - just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one! Here we go!

My project is a card for Valentine's Day, and I pulled some retired paper from my Stash, Sweetheart.  I thought it suited my theme. Below you see all the items that I used to create my card.

Here is my card:

I started with 3 strips of paper, all measuring 5 1/2" long.  The pink polka-dot is 2" wide, the flower pattern is 3" wide, and the black polka-dot is 1" wide, which I then cut a scallop border on for detail.  The sentiment is stamped in the retired Tulip color ontop of Cotton Candy inked paper.  I actually took the back of the sentiment stamp and swiped it across the ink pad. This created a wood grain look, and created the exact size background I needed for the sentiment.  I matted this on to Black Cardstock.  I'm not sure if you can see the glitter on the flower, but it's there.  I thought it needed something else so I grabbed some black glitter buttons and adhered it onto my card.  I used Saddle Ink to stamp the fox, and colored his nose and eyes black using my journalling pens.

Now "Hop" on over to Dawn Heuft's Blog to see her work! Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their Blogs to get some great crafting ideas and other fun ideas! Remember, February's SOTM is only available during this month, and that means you only have 28 days to get your hands on this super cute stamp set.  Contact your CTMH Consultant (or click here) to see how you can get this stamp set at a discount or even free!

Love Doily for Valentine's Day Sketch #40 @ AHSC

Well, like last weeks sketch, I had made this card a while ago, and realized I had not taken a photo of it yet. I spent hours looking for it, and to no avail I could not find it.  So back to the drawing board.  I've seen some of the design team creations at this point, and haha, someone has almost made the identical card I had made.  So I started to flip through my hoard of stamps, and came across the Love Doily(B1418).

Here is the sketch:

Here is my card:

The paper used is the Frosted paper packet, and I used Slate, Crystal Blue and Whisper Ink to stamp the Doily, and the fussy cut all the layers out.  The top 2 layers are 3D Foam popped, then I stamped the sentiment in Black Ink.  I added a sparkle to the center of the Doily just to finish it off.

I hope you will take a few minutes and hop over to the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge, and check out what our Design Team has created.  Also, some of our Design Team members are leaving us this week, as the first Term of the Design Team has come to an end.  We are very sad to see these ladies leave us, but are so excited to welcome the new.  Stay tuned next week!

Friends Forever AHSC #39

I made this card almost immediately after I sketched it, and had to go dig it out of my stash to find it so that I could photograph it.
Here is the sketch:

I used Black and Barn Red Cardstock for this card and the Stamp Set Fabulous You (C1533).  I used various colors from my Alcohol Marker collection, and fussy cut out the bird and the flower just to add a little dimension. The circle and the sentiment are popped with 3D foam tape, and I cut up a piece of burlap ribbon(retiring) to use for the strip.  The Embossed folder used is Anna Griffin's Poppy, which I sanded to show the white core of the cardstock.

Here is my card:

Please take some time and pop over to Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge to visit our Design Team.  They have some fabulous creations to share with you.

Studio J makes Scrapbooking super Easy

So you know how life gets in the way and you don't get to scrapbook those family photos that you just had done?  You keep saying, I'll get to that tonight, or maybe over the weekend. There is not excuse for me, I'm a stay at home mom, I have all the time in the world right?  Nope, I still didn't get around to scrapbooking my fall family photos until after Christmas.  I used Close to My Heart's Studio J program.

I was able to pull any paper packet I wanted and choose my layout.  If I wasn't happy with my colors, they I changed them.  It was really so very easy to do.  With embellishments at your fingertips I was able to add embellishments and change the size and color aswell.  Journalling was just as easy, choosing script, color and size was a snap.

For only $6.95 for a two-page, custom-printed layout (including JPG files),  and only $13.95 shipping to Canada with a minimum 4 two-page layout. (max. 50)

There is no downloading of software, and you can create a customer account that allows you to save and return to a project in progress at a later time. Your active projects will be saved for up to 90 days, giving you plenty of time to work on them. You can extend that timeline for your active projects by 90 days each time you make a purchase, and your purchased projects will remain archived for one full year after purchase. We’ll email you when your active projects are set to expire so you can be sure to purchase them before they are deleted.

Well, here is the layout for my Family Photo Shoot, and check back tomorrow to see the layouts I created from our Christmas celebrations.

AHSC #38 meets Pemberley

This sketch was one that I was looking forward to doing for a while.  I had it envisioned in my head for a few weeks, paper, colors, everything.  However, when it came time for me to put it together, it didn't look right.

Have you ever had that happen?  I was so disappointed.  At first I thought maybe I would have to start right from scratch, but then I decided to play around with the pieces to see if maybe I just flipped it, maybe it would work.

Here is the sketch for this week:

Here is my creation:

So what do you think?  I used the Pemberley paper, one of my favourites from my first year with CTMH. I used an old SOTM from 2012, and the Sentiment is from C1565 In The Moment.  I've also used Blue Epoxy Bubbles.

Now that you've checked out my latest creation, please stop by Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge and see what our Design Team has created using Sketch #38.

Imagine the Possiblities with Sketch #37

Have you ever thought about what you could possibly overcome, or accomplish with just a little effort? Just imagine the Possibilities. Anything is possible, and that is what this card represents for me. I hope that you will take the time to pop over to our Sketch Challenge site and check out our design team, as they work really hard to make awesome creations to inspire you. Here is our sketch for this week:

    Here is my card:

For this card, I started with a 4 x 5 1/4" piece of White Daisy CS.  Using some cotton I made a puddle pad with some re-inkers.  Ruby, Blush, Sweet Leaf, Sunset, and Crystal Blue are the inks.  I balled up some tissue and dabbed it onto the puddle pad, then onto the CS.  After the ink was dry, I adhered it to my cardbase, and then took a strip of White Daisy about 1 1/2" wide and using the scallop boarder punch, punched both sides.  I adhered that right to the card, then using my Black Ink, I stamped the sentiment which is from a retired stamp of the month set.

I hope you like this card, and if you would like to learn how to make a puddle pad, you can watch this tutorial video.

Now, please pop on over to Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge and see our Design Teams Creations.

Let your Light Shine welcoming 2014 with Sketch #36

Well, it's a new year, and with that so many wonderful things are coming our way.  I hope you all rang in the New Year with your loved ones.

    Here is the sketch:

    Here is my card:

This card is 6x6 and I've used White Daisy, Chocolate and Desert Sand Cardstock to create this.  Using only the Perfect Day stamp set, Chocolate Ink and Burlap Ribbon to finish off the details.  I cut fishtails on the end of the ribbon, and adhered it using Liquid Glass.  I distressed the edges using the swipe technique.

I hope you take a moment to visit Atlantic Hearts and see what the design team has created using this sketch.  Also, don't forget to check out how to entry the challenge, or apply for our Design Team.
