Sparkles, Shimmer and Snowflakes equals Happy

So, I've been in a Christmas card mode this past week.  Making cards for the markets I'll be working over the upcoming months....I've been using up my Wonderland paper, and since it was sitting out, I decided to make a card using that paper line.

The sketch this week is by one of our design team members, Anna-Carin.  I think it is a fabulous sketch, and was definitely a challenge for me.  Here is Anna's sketch.

With Sympathy

I've made a sympathy card, and I'm not exactly as happy with it as I was my first card....but my cat got sick on it before I got a photo taken, so back down to the craft room I went last night to create another card. The photo is not the greatest, but I've taken it without natural light.

I used Black Cardstock for the mats and the main piece.  The main piece was run through my cuttlebug, then then I sanded down the embossed pattern so that the white core would show.  I used For Always as my patterned paper, and used the sentiment from Sincere Expressions(A1146), which I stamped all over in 2nd generation stamping, and then once more in 1st generation.  The flower is For Always textile rolled into a rosette, and I added a wisp of Black Tulle under.

October Stamp Of The Month: Scandinavian Wishes

Welcome to our Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!  We are featuring October's SOTM, which is Scandinavian Wishes, a set of 12 stamps.  If you have come here from Jean McNulty's Blog , you are on the right path! I made 2 cards using this stamp set, and couldn't decide which one I liked the best so decided to share them both with you.

This first card I used a Frosted paper, Twilight and Ruby Cardstock, as well as a piece of Whisper for the sentiment.  I also cut the image that cooresponds with the stamp from the Art Philosophy cartridge.  I also stamped the sentiment Happy Holidays on the Twilight and Ruby cardstock with the matching ink for a tone on tone to create my own background paper.  The image and sentiment are popped up using 3D foam tape.

 My second card is made using Whisper and Twilight Cardstock and Frosted paper.  I again made my own background paper using the words Joy, Love, Peace and Hope and stamped in the matching ink for the tone on tone look.  I stamped the ornament image using Twilight Pigment Ink and added clear embossing powder and heat set it.  I punched a hole through the card, and tied the ornament using bakers twine.  The image stamped on the Twilight cardstock is a border stamp, and I stamped that in Twilight ink as well as the sentiment.

Chantilly Fabric Flowers

Wow, here we are on sketch #22, it has been so much fun creating artwork using my sketches as well as sketches created by our design team.  This weeks sketch is one of my own, and I had trouble with this one, as my original plan was to use buttons and the verse "cute as a button".  I had to change it up....so with a bit of thought and some humming and hoeing, I decided to just go for it.

I started with Buttercup cardstock, one of the colours in the Chantilly paper(X7163B), as my base, it is cut 12x6 to create my 6x6 card.  I then pulled another colour from the Chantilly, Twilight and used that as a mat for the Pear patterned paper from the Chantilly collection.  I used the verse Hugs Kisses and Best Wishes from National Stamping Month's Promotional Campaign, You are My Happy(CC1025), and stamped it using the Archival Black Ink.  Using the Chantilly Textiles(Z1819), I cut 16 1 1/2" circles, and used 4 circles per flower. Then are folded twice to create the wedge and then added the cute metal flowers as the centers.

You are my Happy meets Sarita AHSC #21

Today's card comes from one of my own sketches.  I have a whole binder full of them.  Darla says I have enough to get us to our fifth year.  I hope you will take the time to go check out the Design Team creations after reading my post, because we have a really talented Design Team, and they work really hard to create amazing artwork to inspire you.  So once you hit the end of my post click on the link to take you to the design team and their artwork.

 I used the Sarita(X7171B) paper for my card and added some Silver Shimmer Trim.  Then using September's Constant Campaign, "You are My Happy", a set of 3 D-sized stamps, I stamped the butterfly twice on White Daisy Cardstock using Black Archive Ink, and then pulling the colours from the Sarita paper coloured both butterflies the same.  I then layered them ontop of each other to add dimension.  I also used the sentiment You are my Happy, and stamped it in Black Pigment Ink, and heat embossed it using clear embossing powder.
