This month we have approximately 20 Close To My Heart consultants sharing their creations using new products from our Seasonal Expressions catalogs. To start just click on the links at the end of each blog post to move to the next one! Here we go!

For my project I decided to make a card for Mother's Day, and I used the Bonne Fete des Meres(A1216) which is found in the International Section.  I used a pattern from the Gimme Some Sugar collection, and colored the image using GY234 Leaf Green, and RP198 Tender Pink ShinHan Markers. I added a mat under the image in Heather, and some Whisper Twine.

Here is a close up of the image, I used the Colorless Blender Marker to soften the colors. The image is stamped using Memento Black Ink....I use this because I find that I get less bleeding than when I use the Archival Black Ink.

Now "Hop" on over to Melinda's Blog to see her work! Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their Blogs to get some great crafting ideas and other fun ideas! Remember, the November SOTM is only available until November 30th!  Contact your CTMH Consultant (or click here) to see how you can get this stamp set at a discount!

Wreath made for New Home

My mother called me up last Monday asking if I could make a Wreath for her BFF for their new home.  She wanted to give her a gift that she couldn't go and purchase herself.  So here is when it is great that you have a crafty daughter.

So Saturday my parents came into the city, and we finalized placement of all the pretty paper flowers, and then the glue gun came out.  I'm really happy with how it turned out.

About 20 minutes ago, I got a call from the new home owner, and she loves her wreath, and informed me she has already found a home for it, and has hung it up.

Colours used for greenery are, Topiary, Sweet Leaf and New Enlgand Ivy.  The flowers are Pixie, Bashful, and Colonial White cardstock.  Some of the Colonial White were inked with Pixie and Crystal Blue Ink.

The name is Heat Embossed using Gold Embossing Powder.  The wreath is wrapped in Burlap Ribbon.

Live Beautifully Heritage Layout, with painted flowers

I am totally loving the versatility of the Live Beautifully collection, and anytime I get to head into my craftroom to create I am pulling out this paper.  Our company has challenged us to create heritage style layouts.  So I decided to use a photo of my grandmother and the women in her family.

Here is my layout.

I distressed the mat and the papers used for this layout to give them that aged look.  I had some alphabet stickers left over from the Welcome Home Wreath kit, so decided to use those for my title.  My grandmother's maiden name was Young, and so I thought that was fitting for my title.  My grandmother is on the bottom, along side her twin sister.  My Great Grandmother is directly above her.

I've been asked how I created my flowers since they have a water color appearance.  I've shared a video that my daughter helped me with(it's my first technique shared video, so I'm sorry for the quality).

Thanks for stopping by and I hope I was able to teach you a new technique.
