Bingo

Welcome to our March Art Philosophy/Artiste Blog Hop!   As you know, both the Artiste and the Art Philosophy cartridges are available exclusively through a Close to My Heart consultant.  If you don't already have a Consultant that you are currently working with, please contact one the Consultants in our hop with any questions you have!

If you have just hopped onto my blog, please start at the beginning at Lucy's blog Love 2 Create .  If you came from Jennifer of 4 Hearts Scrapbooking then you are in the right place!
Our challenge this month features not only one of these amazing cartridges but also a "BINGO" card!

Here is the BINGO card that our Consultants were given:

The Consultants were told they could  make anything they wanted using the Artiste OR Art Philosophy cartridge AND you work off the BINGO card posted above. Basically, you make a "BINGO" by going across, down, or diagonally and you have to use everything in that bingo line.

My project uses the center line across: sentiment, 3D & buttons.  I used the Artiste to cut this cute little basket from the Chantilly paper.  This basket can be found on page 55 and assembly instructions can be found on page 29 of the assembly booklet.  The sentiment is from the stamp set and is stamped in Pear Ink.  The Frame is from the stamp set Frame Flair and is stamped in Cotton Candy Ink.  The stamp has a matching cut on the Art Philosophy cartridge, which I cut in White Daisy CS and then 1/4 of an inch larger in Cotton Candy CS.
The buttons are from the Clear Button collection which I inked in pigment ink, then added clear embossing powder and then heat set, so that I had buttons that matched my project.  To do this technique you will need tweezers to hold them in place to heat set them.  I used Sunset for the large, Cotton Candy for the medium and Pear for the small.  I have seen this technique done my a few consultants, but I don't remember where and who, but would like to give credit where credit is due.....
So, I also wanted to make this basket so that it could be versatile, so I stamped a second sentiment from the same stamp set, Happy Mother's Day.  The frames are adhered to a straw which I then adhered to a quarter and placed at the bottom of the basket before filling the basket with Easter Grass and Cadbury Creme Eggs.

Your next stop on our "BINGO" hop is Traci of  Paper Crafting 101.

Sorry for your loss

This past week my husband came home and asked if I would make a sympathy card for his boss.  He had lost his best friend, his beloved dog.

It's always sad when you loose a friend, and they had been together for 15 years.  I can relate because this past fall I had to put down my cat, who I had for 14 years.  So here is the card I made, and this isn't just for my husband's boss, this card if for all of you out there who have lost a beloved pet.

2 New Card Creations

Yesterday my oldest daughter, Jaymee wanted to  make some cards with mommy.  So down to the craft room we went.....and this is what we created.

This first one is stamped on a sheet of White Daisy Cardstock then adhered to the card base using 3D Foam Tape.  I used the large flower from the Girls Rock Stamp Set, and stamped it using Buttercup, Sweet Leaf, Sorbet and Sunset.  Then I stamped the sentiment in Crystal Blue ink, it is from the Card Chatter-Sympathy stamp set.

The second card, I had already had the base of it ready to go, but wanted to add a little dimension, so I stamped the Whale onto a separate piece of cardstock, and let my daughter color it in, she did pretty good.  I then fussy cut the whale out and adhered it to the shape of the whale already stamped onto the card.  Then I added a little liquid glass to the eye and the water spray.  The base is the back of the Chantilly bold print, and the Cardstock is Sunset.  The image and sentiment is stamped in Twilight from the New Baby stamp set.  I added a drawn boarded to the Sunset Cardstock to add a little more detail, using the legacy writers pens.

Hope you like what we created yesterday....it's fun to craft with my daughter.

March 15/13 Hinged Display Tray Blog Hop - Cross Canada

Welcome to our March Blog Hop featuring our Hinged Display Tray. This Display Tray is a 5"x7" fold out wooden tray with divided sections. It can be found on page 125 of the 2013 Spring/Summer Idea Book for $18.95. You can purchase one from your local CTMH consultant.

We hope that you will take the time to leave comments on our posts, as we love to get feedback from our viewers....whether it was something that you really liked or some new technique that was used that you would like to learn how to do....by leaving us comments, we get to hear what you like, and what you want to see. Thank you… now on to our hop!

If you have just hopped onto my blog, you are in the right place, because I'm the first person in the lineup.
For my Hinged Display Tray, I've decided to do a Wedding Display. I've used the For Always paper, as well as Ruby, Honey and Buttercup Cardstock. I've also used the For Always Textiles to create a rolled flower.
The left half of the tray is divided into 3 sections, I'll tell you what I did with the top section below. The large picture I matted onto a piece of Ruby Cardstock which is matted onto For Always Pattern Paper. I wanted to add a little bling, so I added the Licorice Opaques Adhesive Gems in various colors and sizes.
The bottom section is matted on Ruby Cardstock. Both of these pictures are then popped using 3D Foam Tape, just because they are my favorite photos....
On the right side there are 4 sections all of equal size. The top left I layered over a piece of the For Always Pattern Paper which I stamped in Ruby Pigment Ink the sentiment "Wishing you a Lifetime of Happiness" from the Happy Couple Stamp Set. Since Pigment Ink does not dry as fast, I added Clear Embossing Powder and set it. The picture is popped off the paper using 3D Foam Tape. The remaining photos are just adhered to the frame.
So this is the top section of the left side of the display tray. Here I started with a Piece of For Always Pattern Paper, which was stamped again with Ruby Pigment Ink and Embossed. The Sentiment comes from the Happy Couple Stamp Set. Then I cut a strip of For Always Textile and adhered one end to a circle scrap of Cardstock and began to twist the fabric. As I twisted the fabric, I also twirled it into a rosette. I then cut some flowers from off the Art Philosophy Cartridge. The Red is from Ruby cardstock distressed with Cranberry Ink, and the Yellow flowers are cut from Buttercup Cardstock and distressed with Honey Ink. The centers were further distressed with Chocolate Ink. The Orange rose, is actually cut from Honey Cardstock then distressed with Sunset Ink. I was trying to match the colors as closely to the flowers from the bouquet as possible. Then to add a little bling, I used the 2 largest sizes of the Licorice Opaques Adhesive Gems.

If you want to check out some of the other ways you can incooperate fabric into your projects check out the link here.....it is where I discovered how to make the rosette flower out of fabric.

Floral Happiness

"Floral Happiness"

Welcome to our March Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!  This month's stamp from Close to My Heart is "Floral Happiness" and is available exclusively through your Close to My Heart consultant from March 1 - 31, 2013.  You can purchase this stamp set for only $5 with a qualifying purchase of $50.
If you have just hopped onto my blog, please start at the beginning at Lucy's blog – Love 2 Create.   If you came from Jane of Jane's Scrap Shack then you are in the right place!
My project is a set of 6 cards, I used Cotton Candy and Honey as my 2 colors for these cards.  I have a the mat cut at 5 1/4x4, and my stamped image is on a piece of White CS .  If you noticed with this Stamp Set, that is has a background stamp, then a detail stamp to create the petals.  I wanted a little more dimension  so I kissed the 2 stamps together first, which will remove ink from the background stamp.  Then I stamped the background stamp on my scrap paper so that I could stamp the image in second generation.  Then I stamped the detail stamp on top.  This created extra dimension with the petals.
The sentiment is popped using 3D Foam Tape, and I used the Frame Flair Stamp set along with the coordinating cut from the Art Philosophy Cartridge.(click on images to see larger)

I'm your last stop, so unless you are starting with me, head over to Lucy at Love 2 Create.

Girls Rock Teachers Gift

So Jaymee's teacher from last year and her teacher this year both got some great news just last week.  They both got permanent teaching positions.  Yeah!

So as I'm designing a project for both classes to make for Mother's Day which isn't all that far away, I decided to make demo's to send in and use them also as congratulation gifts. Jaymee helped make the projects, we used the Girls Rock stamp set, and some bright colors to decorate these cute little purses that I cut from the Artiste cartridge.
In this close up, you can see that the flowers are popped using 3D Foam Tape.  Each a level up,we just added an extra layer of 3D Foam Tape to add dimension.

I also made this little 4x3 card that fits nicely inside. Jaymee colored in the letters, and did a fabulous job!
