Welcome to our May Blog Hop featuring our favorite New Paper Collections. We have 4 new amazing and fun paper collections in the Current Seasonal Expressions 2 catalog.
We have an amazing group of talented ladies all across Canada, and they sure would love to hear from you, so before hopping onto the next person, take a moment and leave a comment about what you loved.
If you've arrived from Nancy Klein's Blog then you are in the right place! If you would like to start at the beginning of the hop, and continue from East Coast to West Coast, then you are in the right spot, as I'm the first stop on the East Coast.
I have 4 cards to share with you today using Prickly Pear. Now we are suppose to share our favorite paper, but really I don't have a favorite, I love all 4 paper collections....but my oldest daughter loves Llama's and needed a birthday card over the weekend, so that it what I used to create with. The first card I'm showing is my daughter Jaymee's card. She decided she needed to color the Llama pink.
I think she did a wonder job coloring her pink Llama, and her friend enjoyed the fun card.
Now for my first card I decided to use this Month's SOTM along with the Prickly Pear Paper. I pulled colors from the pallet for this paper to stamp the flowers, Lemon, Tangerine, Blossom and Poppy and for the sentiment I stamped it in Sapphire. To fill in the center of the flowers, I actually flipped the stamp over and stamped the backside of the flower in 2nd generation. The leaves are stamped in Emerald ink using the same technique as the flowers.
My second card I decided to use the cute Llama, and I used the Watercolor paints to color this cute little guy. I used multiple patterns for this card, and I used the circle Thin Cut to cut the sun, and used the watercolor paints to color it in. The sentiment is stamped using Sapphire ink and then I doodled a border.
For my final card, I used the cute Cactus from and also used watercolor paints to add some fun, vibrant color. I used the a the Golden Yellow Shinhan Marker to color some cardstock before stamping the "on you" and "ouch". They were fussy cut and added to the card. My inspiration came from the artwork in the catalog for this card, but I made some changes to make it my own.

Cute projects...
ReplyDeleteSoooo cute! Love this paper!
ReplyDeleteLove the llamas and cacti, but your floral card is just beautiful! Great job with all the colouring mediums, too (paints, markers).
ReplyDeleteThe cactus colouring is great! Love it.
ReplyDeleteThose cards are so fun!
ReplyDeleteI, too, think your STOM1705 flower card is just beautiful...love how you did the flowers...not quite sure how flipping the flower to the backside to stamp in 2nd generation can show through to the front?....Maybe I just haven't had enough coffee this morning!:-) Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteLove the cards!
