If you have just hopped onto my blog, you can start here as this is a circular hop and I am the first spot when you are hopping from East Coast to West Coast. If you came from Kristine Ponte's Blog  then you are in the right place!

I had lots of fun playing with the Seas The Day paper and Scrapbooking stamp and thin cut set.  I used the Spectrum Noir markers to color the images.  The lighthouse uses the Earthbrown, the Ice Grey, Dark Red, Dull Green and Cirtrus Yellow markers.

The sailboat uses the True Blue, Ice Blue and the Dark Red markers.  For this one I wanted to used a distressing technique, so I sanded the Sapphire cardstock for a more rustic look.  I tore the sapphire to represent waves and layered them onto the tag.

Your next stop on the Cross Canada Hop is Rosalynd Kelly.

If you get lost along the way, you can come right back here, I've posted the full lineup.

Butterfly Hugs

How have you all been coping with the stay at home orders?  Me, I've been doing okay, I really don't go out much since I am a stay at home mom/work from home.  Now having the kids home with me for the past 3 and a half weeks, well, we've had some trying times, but so far everyone is still alive.

I have 3 children, ages 15,10 and 9.  They can be obnoxious, loud, irritating at times, but then again they are kids, and I'm sure at that age we were the same way.  Monday we started school from home for my high schooler and today we are starting the 2 younger kids.  I am not a teacher, so this should be entertaining to say the very least.

I hope that you have been finding time to still get some crafting done! I have been here and there between breaking up fights and housework.  Is it me, or does the house not stay clean when the kids are not in school?

Over the weekend my oldest daughter sat down with me and helped create 100 cards for the local seniors residence. Since then I've been making some more cards to send out to family members that are out of province and those that are now by themselves.

That is the theme of today's card using AHSC Sketch # 363.

I used some retired paper from the Boutique Collection, and I had the butterfly stamped from another project.  I used the Sending Hugs sentiment from the You Make Me Happy, Operation Smile stamp set.

This month we have approximately 21 Close To My Heart Consultants sharing their creations using this month's SOTM and other great CTMH products on their blogs. This is simple to do - just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one! Here we go!

I had so much fun colouring and then fussy cutting the all the different images on this set.  I used a large variety of colours when colouring these images both from the Shinhan collection(retired) and the Spectrum Noir Tri-Blend collection.

The top image here is my version of a fish tank, and I've included the sign, sand castle and treasure chest.  I added Gold Stickles to the chest to make it appear as real gold, the water bubbles are stamped in Carolina Ink and then the whole water area is sponged with the same colour.  I then used the Clear Shimmer Brush and coloured in the bubbles as well as flicked the brush onto the paper.  The sand is stamped and sponged in Toffee Ink.

The second card I didn't want it to be as busy so I used the fishbowl and added some twine(retired) from my stash.  The fishbowl is popped up from the card using 3D foam tape and the same coloured were used to sponge the water and sand.  The mat for the card is Crystal Blue cardstock which I sanded all the edges to give it a distressed look. The pattern paper is from Seas the Day collection.

AHSC # 362 - Thinking of You

Today I'm making cards to send to my customers to let them know that even though we can't get together and create and socialize that I'm thinking of them.

I've used this week's sketch for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.  I rotated the sketch and added a butterfly to the design.  I used pattern paper from the line Boutique from a few years ago.  The background or mat for this card has been sanded to give it some texture.  For the butterfly I added colour with the Spectrum Noir markers and then went over it with the clear shimmer brush.
