New Product Blog Hop - Spring/Summer 2014 Idea Book

Welcome to the New Product Blog Hop.  At the bottom of the post you will find links to all the entrants participating in this Blog Hop featuring new product.  There are so many things that I am excited about that I wasn't sure where to start.  But yesterday my oldest daughter and I got out the new base and bling line and made some chains.

These are a few of the new pieces for creating your chains. The chains are 30" and have a 2" extender with lobster claw clasps.  They come in 2 finishes, Faux Antiqued Gold and Faux Antiqued Silver.  There are 4 charm assortments plus a Rhinestone collection to choose from.

Here are the chains that we made:

This first chain uses one of the many stickers found on the Storyteller Style Sheet. It features the Eiffel Tower, which has a matching charm in the Storyteller Charm package. Each of the Charm packages includes 6 charms, 3 designs, 2 of each design.  These charms come in both finishes, one of each.  I also added the extender piece and and used the heart charm with the word love to finish it off. Best of all, with a little liquid glass I was able to attach the glass cover which gives it that polished look.

My daughter decided she wanted to use the sticker from the same collection, featuring the word Daughter, and also decided to use the last charm from the StoryTeller collection.  She asked if she could raid my bling and accessory collection to dress her chain up.  She grabbed this felt flower from a past collection.

If you are interested in making a chain of your own, you can find the product on my webpage here, or if you would like to hold a jewellery bar party you can contact me here.

Thank you… now on to our hop!

If you have just hopped onto my blog, then you've found the first stop on our Cross Canada Hop.

For my project I made the headband (Z1878).  I used the Juniper Vine pattern from the Sparkle & Shine Textiles (Z1884) and the Lagoon Houndstooh Washi Tape (Z1850).  I wrapped the Washi Tape around the headband to cover the band itself.  Then cutting a piece of textile about 2"x 14" I folded the cut edges in and adhered it to a large Adhesive dot (Z1903).  Then beginning to twist the fabric tightly, I wound it into a rosette.  Once I had covered the adhesive dot, I then peeled it off the carrier sheet, and adhered it to a second adhesive dot and placed it on the metal plate on the headband.  You can see how to make the rosette here in this video for the Base and Bling Necklace Kit.

Your next stop on the Cross Canada Hop is Krista of " Simply Creating Together.  If you get lost along the way, you can head back here, as I have provided a full list of our hoppers.
Here is the complete Blog Hop List:

Thanks for hopping along with us - we hope we were able to inspire you to get creative using some of the designs, products and techniques seen along the way. Join us again in November when we will be featuring the projects from the new Mini Holiday Gift Guide.  We hope you will join us again on Novmeber 15th.

Wasn't really sure what I wanted to do at first.  But then I remember that I had received a new order from CTMH and it had the New Base and Bling Hair Clips(Z1875).

So that is what I'm going to show you.  I did a little photo tutorial to show you how to make the flowers. This first photo will show you the finished product sitting next to the base.

So, what I did was I chose my fabric, I used the blue panel from the Sarita textile package(Z1885).  I made a 2" circle template, which I then traced onto the back of the fabric with a black ink pen.  I cut out 9 fabric circles.

I used the largest circle adhesive dot  from the sheet, there are 4 coordinating sizes to match all the jewellery(Z1903).

Once all my fabric circles were cut out I took the top piece off the adhesive which is adhered to the hair clip, and I started by folding 1 of the 9 circles and placing it on the base. You fold the circle in half, and then half again, and then I folded each piece back onto itself.  I did this 8 times, as it will hold 8 folded pieces around the circle, and then put the last one in the centre to give it a fuller flower.

I put each piece on as I finished folding it.  You should have a great flower hair clip, I wanted mine fuller, so for this I needed a glue gun, and I popped a small glob of hot glue in the centre, and placed my ninth piece in place.  I then gently separated the folds just a little to fill in the empty spaces.
Finally, it is ready to be modelled.  So I grabbed my littlest model and tada, we have a Sarita Hair Clip.

Hope you will Craft It Up & Link It Up!!!
