Miss Ally Auction

Recently one of our provinces fishing villages lost 5 young men.  There is currently an Auction taking place on Facebook and I've donated a registration for an event I am co-hosting in September.

To place a bid on my donation, you can follow this link: Operation ART Registration

Here is the link to the event:
Operation Autumn ReTreat (ART)

The Auction has 2 albums containing items for which you will be able to bid on...which could grow to much more, as the support for the families who have lost there loved ones grows.

Our theme this month features not only one of these amazing cartridges but also a brand NEW paper pack from Close to My Heart - "For Always".   In this hop, you will see projects featuring one (or both!) of our versatile Cricut cartridges with this paper pack from many talented crafty ladies!  Enjoy our blog hop!

If you have just hopped onto my blog, please start at the beginning at Lucy's blog – Love 2 Create.   If you came from Thedora of  Celebrate Crafts then you are in the right place!

For my project I used the Art Philosophy Cartridge for cut a pillow box.  All my cuts came from this awesome cartridge.  The frame for the sentiment is layered cardstock, I wanted it to look as though it were chipboard.  I used Smoothie Cardstock for the rolled 3D flowers, as well as the outside of the frame.  The sentiment is stamped with Versamark, and then I used Black Embossing Powder  and my heat gun to set the embossing.  I just love the shine.  I also added some Almond Glitz Glitter Gel to the Pearl Adhesives and the edges of the flowers.

Treasured Tags layout from Cherish How to Book

For this layout I used the New Claire Paper. I really love the colors. This layout is featuring pictures of my youngest at her first birthday party....she really loved her cake.

I used Blush Cardstock as the base for my layout, and used Cotton Candy, Outdoor Denim and Ruby Cardstock for my accents aswell as the first sheet of paper in the Claire paper packet.

The embellishments are mainly the shapes cut from the bold pattern of Claire and I added Liquid Glass to them to make them shine. I layered the flower by cutting out each different section of this flower.

This next photo I used the Rosette Ribbon as some added detail to soften the layout.

This next photo I've wrapped some Baker's Twine from the Paradise collection, and tied a knot to add a little dimension.

Here I've journaled using the Chalk Board Marker. The Cardstock is distressed using the sanding block.

Using the Chalk Board Marker I've added stitching and doodling to the edges just to finish off the look.

Happy Valentine's Day - Treat Tubes, and Card for Hubby

Happy Valentine's Day Everyone!

Wow, so glad I'm done making those treat tubes, it was very time consuming, I made a total of 26 of them.  I made 24 for my daughter to take to school to give to her class, teacher and principal, and then 2 for my husband to take in for the ladies in the office.  This is a shot of some of the tubes. (sorry for the bad quality)
Then I had to make my amazing husband a Valentine's Day card, just because he is so fabulous and does some many wonderful things.......he is my creation using For Always paper, January's SOTM, Whooo's Your Valentine Stamp Set, and the Art Philosophy cartridge.

The card is 5x7, and I used Gypsy Cardstock and Gypsy and Black Ink to finish off this design.

I hope you all have a fabulous Valentine's Day!

Home Sweet Home (SOTM Blog Hop)

Welcome to our February Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!  This month's stamp set from Close to My Heart is "Home Sweet Home" and is available exclusively through your Close to My Heart consultant from February 1 - 28, 2013.  You can purchase this stamp set for only $5 with a qualifying purchase.

If you have just hopped onto my blog, please start at the beginning at Lucy's blog – Love 2 Create .

If you came from Ryan of Piece and Paper then you are in the right place!

My project today is this cute wooden frame I had lying around the house(a purchase I made months ago, and never did anything with it).  My favorite paper packet is For Always, I just love how you can pair any color with it, and it will look amazing.  I used the Home Sweet Home stamp from the SOTM stamp set.

I stamped the sentiment on our new Glitter Paper using Versamark Ink, and added Black Embossing powder.  Then I heat set it!  I must admit, wasn't sure if it would work, so I did a test piece first......happy to say it works, you can heat emboss on the Glitter paper.
My pinwheel flower is actually scraps that I cut into strips and then scored at every 1/2 inch.  Then folded and then using my Liquid Glass pasted together, before adhering to the frame I cut points on the pinwheel to give it a little more flare.  Next I added 2-1 1/4" circles that I stamped on using our Black Ink and the Love Blooms stamp set.  Took a piece of the Black Tulle and a decorative brad to finish it off.  The 2 smaller flowers were cut from the Art Philosophy cartridge.

This flower is just a flower shape found on the Art Philosophy Cartridge, on page 41.  I scored at every petal, and creased, each layer is cut 1/4 smaller then the layer beneath. I added a circle cut of Black Tulle between the middle and top layer, and added 2 circle cuts of Tulle on top, connecting everything with a pewter brad. I then crunched the one layer of tulle to add dimension.

Here is another view

This is a close up of the heat embossing of the sentiment.  I think you can see a little of the shine that is created when you heat emboss.  I hope you liked my For Always Home Sweet Home Frame.  I know I love it!

Feature Blog - Kathy It's a girl thing Easel Card

Today we are celebrating my baby girls 2nd Birthday.  So I don't have a project of my own to share, and I really hadn't put together a post of my own.

However, I was checking out my fellow consultant, and new friend, Kathy from It's a girl thing.  You can see her video tutorial on her blog, and more photos, but this was a card I must share.

She has made a beautiful Wedding card, and has made a tutorial to explain how to make your own.
