Ariste 3D Christmas Blog Hop - Dec15/11

Welcome to our December Blog Hop featuring any 3D item from our exclusive Artiste Cricut Cartridge. In this Hop you will find that each consultant has created a 3D item of their choice from the Artiste, we were told it could be anything as long as it was a Christmas theme.

If you have just hopped onto my blog, you can start here as this is a circular hop, but if you want to follow us across Canada then please start at the beginning and join Darla at Caution: Crafting is Contagious. If you came from Darla's blog then you are in the right place!

Here is my project, I made Christmas Ornaments for my children. The mailbox is really cute at the regular size of 3" that the Artiste instructions call for, but it also got me thinking what if I cut it at half the size would I be able to make it into ornaments for the kids. Well, the answer is yes, and here is how they turned out.

So the paper used here is now retired, it is from the Believe Paper Packet, I also used some Holiday Red Cardstock, and the mini envelope is cut on Kraft Cardstock. I used a piece of hemp to make the hanger.
This picture shows the size difference between the regular size of 3" (in back) and the mini version of 1 1/2" (in front), I also placed it on an ink pad so you could see the size of the mailbox.
I was able to cut four ornaments on 1 sheet of 12x12 Believe Paper,  so I made an ornament for each of my children.

I hope that you all have a Very Merry Christmas and that you simply take the time to enjoy the time you have which each of your loved ones.

Your next stop on the Cross Canada Hop is
Here is the complete lineup incase you get lost along the way.

Thanks for hopping along with us - we hope we were able to inspire you to create your own Christmas projects using some of the designs and paper seen along the way. Join us again in the New Year, our first Hop is scheduled on January 15 and it is consultants choice.

Don't forget to leave a comment, as we enjoy receiving comments to let us know how much you enjoy out projects.

Feature Christmas Card Day - Card 6

Well, today is Card 6 that means the end of my card creations, but tomorrow's post I will show you the 6 cards that Darla taught at class.

Once again we used the Pear & Partridge Paper. However, the White Daisy is mounted this time on New England Ivy Cardstock.  We also used the Ruby cardstock for this design as well.  The stamp set used in this design is Merry & Bright.  The wreath is popped up off the design using 3D Foam Tape

I really like the design of this card, and I like how the some of the class played with the design and changed the layout.  I hope you have enjoyed my card designs, and that you will come back tomorrow to see Darla's cards.

Feature Christmas Card Day - Card 5

So we are at card 5 today, and here we've used the Pear & Partridge again on top of an Olive Cardstock base.  Then stamping the sentiment from Christmas Love stamp set in New England Ivy/Ruby on White Daisy cardstock which is matted on Ruby cardstock.  We also dyed some Color Ready Ribbon in Ruby(which is super messy), not recommended to be done when you have little kids near by.  Then we added some Sparkles.

The ladies had such fun playing with the layout of this card and just made minor tweaks to make it their own.  All in all I think they did a fabulous job.

Feature Christmas Card Day - Card 4

Well, today I'm featuring a card that I simply love because it is simple but so much fun.  We used the Pear & Partridge Paper to create this card.

We used Ruby cardstock and cut the tags on White Daisy cardstock.  We used Olive and New England Ivy Ink, as well as Harvest Bakers Twine, and the afternoon distressed their tags using Chocolate Ink.  We used the Urban Alphabet Stamp set for the letters.

Check back tomorrow for card 5.

Feature Card 3 -Christmas Card Day

So this is card 3 of the 6 that I taught at our first Christmas Card Day.  We are planning on doing this each year, plus we are already in planning for our Spring Card Day.

If you are interested in attending you can contact me via email here.

For these cards we started with a Whisper cardstock base, then we layered Crystal Blue cardstock.  The image and sentiment are stamped using Twilight ink, on Twilight cardstock which is matted on Whisper cardstock.  We also took the 2 verses that come with this stamp set and used it as a background stamp.

Feature Christmas Card Day - Card 2

As promised here is the second card we made at our first Christmas Card Day.

This card is made using the Snowflakes stamp set, using Crystal Blue, Whisper, White Daisy, and Twilight cardstock.  The snowflakes were cut using the Art Philosophy cartridge, and using Twilight, Slate and Crystal Blue Ink.

Feature Christmas Card Day - Card 1

So today's post I am featuring cards made my some of our participates in our 1st Christmas Card Day.  The class was taught by Darla and myself.

So there are 2 pictures being posted, the first is from the morning group and the second from the afternoon group.

The stamp set that we used here is Flakey Friends, one of my favorites, as it has 3 cute snowmen....we only used 2 of those snowmen, and we used White Daisy and Whisper cardstock...and we used Crystal Blue and Twilight inks, plus various makers.

We had lots of fun, and I hope that everyone enjoys our cards as much as we had fun making them.  Watch tomorrow for card 2.

Advent Calendar Blog Hop

Welcome to our second of 2 Blog Hops happening this month. In this Hop you will find that each consultant has created a calendar, we've used different materials and created our own take on advent calendars!  Close To My Heart has an Advent Calendar WOTG kit that you can purchase from your local consultant, or you can purchase from from me here.

If you have just hopped onto my blog, you can start here as this is a circular hop, but if you want to follow us across Canada then please start at the beginning and join Darla in Nova Scotia at Caution: Crafting is Contagious If you came from Darla's blog then you are in the right place!

Please excuse the poor quality of my photo, my picture editor decided tonight would be a good night to crash.

I chose to use the display tray which can be found on page 129 of the current Idea Book for only $19.95 . Since the display tray only has 12 openings, I thought it was perfect for the 12 Days of Christmas. I used current paper, as well as some retired paper.....it was a bit of a challenge as I had to figure out how to make doors to open....as well as make it fun for the kids. I really like how it turned out, I hope you like it too. The cavities are big enough to place some chocolate Santa's.

Cross Canada Christmas Card Blog Hop - 11/5/12

Welcome to our first of 2 Blog Hops happening this month. In this Hop you will find that each consultant has created 3 Christmas Cards using non-Christmas paper! We were given the challenge to create these 3 cards using either cardstock or another paper packet of our choice.

If you have just hopped onto my blog, you can start here as this is a circular hop, but if you want to follow us across Canada then please start at the beginning and join Deanne in NewFoundland at Treasured Heart. If you came from Stephanie's Creations then you are in the right place!

For this first card I used the La Belle Vie Mauve Cardstock as my base. I ran it through my cuttlebug using the plaid folder from Winter Wonderland. Then placed a strip of Bamboo patterned paper ontop. I cut a mat out of the La Belle Vie Mauve, and layered a piece of White Daisy to stamp on. The sentiment came from the Christmas Love Stamp Set. The leaves and holly berries were cut from the Art Philosophy cartridge and using Olive and Holiday Red Inks stamped using the A Holiday stamp set.

This card uses the Striped Pattern paper as the base. Then I cut 2 mats, one in La Belle Vie Mauve and the second in La Belle Vie Pink. The sentiment comes from the Christmas Love stamp set and is stamped in Blush Ink. I cut multiple flowers from the Art Philosophy cartridge in 2 different sizes from the La Belle Vie Pink, then I inked all the flowers in the Blush ink. Using a Mini Antique Brad to fasten them together, I adhered it to the card with glue dots. The leaves are stamped in Olive ink, and also were cut from the Art Philosophy cartridge.
My last card in this series starts with the Pink Patterned Paper as the base. The ornaments are cut from the Bamboo patterned paper, and I used the Art Philosophy cartridge. They are adhered using 3D Foam Tape. The sentiment is from October's SOTM and is stamped in Black Ink. The ornament shapes are adorned with Pearl Opaques Adhesive Gems.

As promised.....

Well, I promised that I would put up photos of my younger 2 children dressed up for Halloween too.  So here they are.
This is my baby girl, Abbigail, she will be 22 months old tomorrow(Nov.3).  My mother in law made her Belle costume.  We tried hairclips, but she wasn't having none of that, and she was fast asleep at 7:30.  Poor thing, all the  excitement tuckered her out.

Here you will find Nicholaus, my superhero, Spiderman, he is 3 1/2 years old, and goes nonstop.  Daddy said that he was just running from house to house he was so excited.  Jaymee wanted her face painted just like Ghoulia Yelps, so I had to mix a grey face paint to get this look.  I don't follow Monster High, but, from the remarks from other kids, they knew exactly who she was.

Hope you all had a great Halloween!  Don't forget your poppies to support our Veterans!  Let us remember, November 11/12.

Happy Halloween

Well it's October 31st, and not only is it Halloween but today is my Grandmother, and her twin sister's birthday.

Happy Birthday nan!

Now on for the fun stuff.
This year I decided instead of just sending in treats for my daughters class, that I would put my cricut to use.  I used both the Art Philosophy and the Artiste to create these cute bags and coffins to hold the kids treats.

My daughter, Jaymee, is dressed up as Ghoulia Yelps from Monster High.  I'll add a post later to show you what my younger kids dressed as for Halloween this year.

Happy Halloween!
